National Statistics Day 2026

Statistics of Jayapura Municipality commemorated National Statistics Day (HSN) 2026 through a ceremony held on Saturday, September 26, 2026. This year’s HSN was commemorated under the theme “Quality, Meaningful, and Impactful Statistics for a Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.”

During the ceremony, the Chief of Statistics of Jayapura Municipality, Mr. Sugiyanto, S.ST., M.Si., delivered the remarks of the Head of Statistics Indonesia, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, in commemoration of National Statistics Day 2026. The remarks highlighted HSN as an important moment for reflection and for strengthening the commitment of statistical personnel to producing high-quality data that provides meaningful benefits to society.

The remarks emphasized that behind every statistical figure are the lives of people. Accurate statistics, when properly used, can support fairer decision-making and provide meaningful benefits to society. This is in line with the message of the 2026 HSN theme, which emphasizes statistics that are quality-driven, meaningful, and impactful.

The remarks also expressed appreciation to all statistical personnel for their hard work and dedication in implementing the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026). The results of SE2026 are expected to go beyond data and publications by providing tangible benefits and serving as a foundation for strengthening the Statistical Business Register, supporting GDP rebasing, and providing information on the latest structure and distribution of economic activities.

Furthermore, statistical personnel are encouraged to continue adapting to technological developments, including the use of AI and data science, while upholding methodology, quality, transparency, ethics, data security, and confidentiality.

Through the commemoration of HSN 2026, Statistics of Jayapura Municipality continues to strengthen its commitment to delivering statistics that are quality-driven, meaningful, and impactful for development and society.
