CPI/Inflation Development in Jayapura City April 2022

◼ In April 2022 Jayapura City recorded inflation of 2.38 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.46. Out of 90 CPI cities, all cities experienced inflation. Jayapura City ranks 2nd at the national level and 1st at the Sulampua (Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua) level.The calendar year inflation rate for Jayapura City (April) 2022 is 2.45 percent and the year on year inflation rate (April 2022 against April 2021) is 4.09 percent.

◼ Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index number of expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 4.02 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.74 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.99 percent; household supplies, equipment and routine maintenance group by 1.89 percent; health group by 2.39 percent; transportation group by 2.96 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.06 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.65 percent; and personal care and other services group by 3.48 percent.

As for the expenditure groups that did not change the index number, namely: the recreation, sports and culture group and the Education group.
