Abstract

The Gender Inequality Index (GII) of Papua Province in 2023 was 0.518, an increase of 0.003 points compared to 2022. The increase in gender inequality occurred in several districts/municipalities in Papua Province.

The Gender Inequality Index (GII) for Papua Province in 2023 was 0.518, an increase of 0.003 points compared to 0.515 in 2022. The IKG of Papua Province in 2023 is the index before Papua Province was split into New Autonomous Regions (DOB).

The increase in the Gender Inequality Index (GII) was mainly influenced by a decrease in the empowerment dimension and a decrease in the labor market dimension. On the other hand, the reproductive health dimension has improved.
