This activity aims to provide opportunities for selected students to intern at BPS and participate in activities in each BPS in accordance with their capacity as advanced implementing statisticians. The total number of internship participants was 52 people spread across BPS Papua Province, BPS Jayapura City, BPS Merauke Regency, BPS Biak Numfor Regency and BPS Mimika Regency.
BPS Kota Jayapura became one of the internship locations for MSIB Batch 6 participants and this was the first time BPS Kota became an internship location for MSIB participants. The number of interns at BPS Kota Jayapura was 6 people consisting of 1 student from Udayana University, 1 student from Jambi University, 1 student from Universitas Islam Indonesia, 2 students from Cenderawasih University, and 1 student from Yapis Papua University.
For approximately 4 months as MSIB participants, MSIB participants were involved in activities at BPS Kota Jayapura. In addition, MSIB participants were involved in making 3 PODCASTs at BPS Kota Jayapura so that they are expected to improve their skills in statistical literacy, and skills in time management and communication. MSIB participants are also required to make regular reports.
At the end of the period, MSIB participants make final assignments in the form of journals and publications that will be uploaded on the BPS website. On June 24, 2024, at the BPS Jayapura City hall, the official release of MSIB Batch 6 interns was held as a sign of the end of the internship at BPS Jayapura City.
This activity was led by the Head of BPS Kota Jayapura, Jeffry Yohannes De Fretes and employees in BPS Kota Jayapura. In his remarks, the Head of BPS Kota conveyed that during the internship at BPS Kota Jayapura, MSIB participants are expected to gain experience, knowledge, and be able to explore information from the data generated at BPS Kota Jayapura so that it can be useful in the future. At the end of his remarks, the Head of BPS advised MSIB participants to complete their lectures well and be successful in their respective roles one day.
The release of MSIB batch 6 interns was closed with a group photo session and the awarding of certificates as a sign of the end of MSIB activities. Greetings success for the younger siblings of MSIB Batch 6 BPS Jayapura City (PS).
