Currently, BPS Papua Province has carried out training of officers for the 2024 Warehousing, Expedition and Courier Survey (VPEK) which is integrated with the 2024 Distribution Pattern Survey (Poldis). One of the objectives of the implementation of VPEK and Poldis is to obtain data / information related to the growth of the logistics sector, especially warehousing and delivery of goods (couriers / expeditions) which is an important indicator in increasing economic growth in Indonesia, and to determine distribution patterns and trade margins of a commodity.
The data and information obtained will be used by stakeholders for planning and evaluation materials related to the logistics sector and commodity distribution patterns from producers to final consumers.
In particular, the 2024 Warehousing, Expedition and Courier Survey (VPEK) has the following objectives:
1. Obtain a directory of warehousing, freight forwarding, and courier companies.
2. Obtain and present data/information on the characteristics of warehousing, freight forwarding, and courier companies.
3. Obtain and present data/information on warehousing, expedition, and courier businesses based on production value, income, and expenses.
4. Obtain and present data/information on the economic prospects and capitalization of warehousing, expedition, and courier businesses.
BPS Papua Province conducted VPEK-24 Officer Training through zoom on July 3 - 4, 2024. This training was attended by all prospective officers from BPS Kabupaten/Kota in the scope of BPS Papua Province.
BPS Kota Jayapura sent 6 (six) prospective field officers who will conduct data collection during July to August 2024. This officer training aims to train officers who will conduct data collection for the Warehousing, Expedition and Courier Survey (VPEK) in 2024.
VPEK-24 is expected to complement the needs of transportation statistics, especially the warehousing, expedition, and courier subsectors, and can be used as a basic framework in planning future transportation statistics activities.
In addition, the results of the Poldis Survey are expected to provide an overview of domestic trade distribution patterns as a reference for building a more efficient trade distribution system. In addition, the total trade and transportation margins for the distribution of the commodities under study from producers to final consumers can be obtained.
