The event began with the Report of the Chairperson of the Committee, by the Chairperson of the Papua Province BPS Sectoral Statistics Development Team, followed by remarks from the Head of BPS Papua Province Adriana Carolina, SE, M.M as well as officially opening a series of harmonisation activities of EPSS assessment results on all Regency / City governments in the Papua Province, South Papua, Central Papua and Papua Mountains.
In her remarks, Adriana Carolina, SE, M.M said that measuring the progress of the implementation of sectoral statistics is carried out through EPSS activities. In accordance with the Central Statistics Agency Regulation Number 3 of 2022 concerning EPSS, EPSS is a systematic assessment process through verification & validation of information on the results of self-assessment to measure the maturity level of the implementation of sectoral statistics in government agencies (Central Agencies and Local Governments).
One of the assessment stages of the Evaluation of the Implementation of Sectoral Statistics (EPSS) is Harmonisation. Harmonisation of assessment results is a process within BPS that is carried out by reviewing the explanation and supporting evidence that has been submitted by the Agency Assessment Team (TPI) to BPS during the assessment stage, she explained. Furthermore, Adriana Carolina, SE, M.M explained that the objectives of the activity were to increase the objectivity of the EPSS assessment, equalise the perception of the assessment, and explain any changes that occurred at the assessment stage both by the TPB and TPK.
Hopefully, with the implementation of the measurement of the progress of the implementation of sectoral statistics carried out through EPSS, it can be carried out smoothly and of course these results will provide an overview of how the maturity of the implementation of sectoral statistics in the Regional Government and what kind of follow-up plan will be carried out in the future (PS).
